Head of Trade Surveillance Data Quality
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of a strategic data quality framework to support surveillance activities across multiple business lines and jurisdictions.
Oversee end-to-end management of trading data-ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely delivery from front-office systems through to surveillance platforms.
Act as a senior point of contact for regulatory and audit engagements relating to surveillance data, ensuring alignment with global compliance standards.
Partner with technology teams to enhance data pipelines, embed controls, and introduce automation and advanced analytics to flag potential anomalies or gaps.
Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across Compliance, Trading, Ops, and Risk to continuously improve data flows and surveillance effectiveness.
Lead investigations into complex data issues, drive root cause analysis, and implement long-term remediation and prevention strategies.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
7+ years' experience in trade surveillance, market compliance, or data governance within a trading or capital markets environment.
Strong understanding of global markets across asset classes, particularly equity, FICC, and derivatives.
Familiarity with surveillance platforms and tools such as Actimize, SMARTS, OneTick, or similar.
Strong technical acumen with working knowledge of SQL and/or Python; comfortable with large-scale data environments.
Experience engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders, including regulators.
Track record of leading cross-functional projects in complex, regulated settings.
Desirable:
Exposure to cloud-based data infrastructure and AI/ML tools for data analytics or surveillance enhancement.
Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Data Science, Computer Science).
