Director Model Risk Management
An American Commercial Bank, who has been aiming to expand its Model Risk team is looking to hire a Director level candidate to work directly with their Head of Model Risk Management and Enterprise Risk Reporting on a 2 person team. This individual will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing the bank's Model Risk Management framework in compliance with regulatory guidance. Additionally, they will oversee the governance, validation, monitoring, and reporting of models such as BSA/AML, Credit, CECL, ALM, Capital planning, Stress testing, liquidity, among others.
The firm is targeting individuals with 8+ years of experience in model risk management, validation, or quantitative risk within a bank or consulting firm. This firm is known for having some of the best culture and work life balance on the street, and prides itself on maintaining these standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee model life-cycle governance.
- Validate BSA/AML, CECL/ALLL, Credit, ALM, stress testing, market risk, and liquidity models.
- Develop Power BI dashboards and automated reports to track model performance, issues, and usage.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on risk management with the best practices and procedures.
- Ensure full compliance with SR 11-7, CECL, and other regulatory guidance.
Qualifications
- 8+ years working in a Model Risk function
- Knowledge of banking regulations and regulatory frameworks, including but not limited to Basel III, Dodd-Frank Act, BSA/AML, and consumer protection laws
- Familiarity with CECL, ALM, stress testing, etc. models
- Ability to work with large data sets, and perform quantitative analysis
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with senior management
