About the Role
Our client, a leading quantitative hedge fund is seeking a Data Engineer to join its London-based engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of data, technology, and finance - building scalable systems that power systematic trading strategies across global markets.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust data infrastructure, with a focus on automation, data quality, and performance. You'll work closely with quantitative researchers and traders to ensure seamless access to high-quality data, while contributing to the design and implementation of scalable data frameworks in a cloud-native environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated ETL pipelines to streamline data onboarding
- Design and implement scalable data frameworks
- Monitor data ingestion processes and ensure data integrity
- Integrate alternative datasets into existing systems
- Build and maintain data quality checks to ensure accuracy and coverage
- Provide support to internal users, including quantitative analysts and traders
Required Skills & Experience
- Must have strong professional experience from a Finance background
- 2+ years of experience in a data-related role
- Strong proficiency in Python; experience as a polyglot developer is a plus
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Ability to understand and respond to user needs
