Catastrophe Risk Analyst
Selby Jennings is proud to partner with a leading global (re)insurance provider to bring on board a Catastrophe Risk Analyst. This position allows you to join a high-performing Catastrophe Modelling team. This is a unique opportunity to work across multiple lines of business - Property D&F, Renewable Energy, Binders, Terrorism, and more - helping to shape underwriting strategy and portfolio management through robust modelling and insightful analysis.
You'll collaborate closely with the actuaries to explain modelled outputs, assess data, and explore new market products. This role sits at the front end of the business, where your expertise directly influences decision-making. Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and price catastrophe loss contracts using CAT modelling and historical experience
- Communicate modelling concepts and results to underwriters
- Review and validate cedent exposure data, identifying inconsistencies
- Support portfolio analysis, event response reporting, and modelling best practice.
Requirements:
- 1+ year's catastrophe modelling experience (AIR Touchstone/Catradar preferred)
- Strong Excel skills; SQL desirable
- Critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge across multiple lines of business desired, including Property D&F, Renewable Energy, Binders and Terrorism.
