As part of their continued growth in the insurance sector, they are seeking a seasoned Actuarial Practice Leader to drive innovation and excellence in Capital Modeling and Reserving.
Position Summary
This executive-level role will lead the actuarial function responsible for capital adequacy, reserving strategy, and client-facing actuarial consulting. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with commercial acumen and a passion for team development.
Key Responsibilities
Capital Modeling:
Lead the design, development, and enhancement of internal capital models to support regulatory compliance, capital allocation, and enterprise risk management. Ensure models are robust, validated, and aligned with business strategy.
Reserving Strategy:
Oversee the reserving process across multiple commercial lines. Ensure methodologies are sound, assumptions are well-supported, and results are communicated clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
Business Development:
Serve as a senior actuarial advisor in client engagements, RFPs, and strategic partnerships. Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and distribution teams to support growth initiatives and deliver actuarial insights that drive value.
Leadership & Team Development:
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing actuarial team. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Represent the actuarial function in executive forums and cross-functional initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
Fellow of the CAS (FCAS) or equivalent actuarial designation
15+ years of actuarial experience in P&C insurance, with a focus on capital modeling and reserving
Demonstrated success in client-facing or business development roles
Strong leadership experience with the ability to manage and inspire technical teams
Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., NAIC, Solvency II, IFRS 17)
Proficiency in actuarial and modeling tools (e.g., Igloo, R, Python)
