Our client is a global organization operating within the commodities and natural resources sector, with a strong presence across international markets. The business supports a diverse customer and supplier network through trading, logistics, financing, and risk management capabilities. They offer a dynamic, fast-paced environment with significant exposure to complex global operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance, including corporate income, sales, property, and multi-state filing obligations.
  • Manage individual tax matters involving expatriates, resident aliens, and foreign asset reporting requirements.
  • Lead income tax accounting under ASC 740 and address tax considerations related to financial products and Section 163(j).
  • Evaluate state nexus exposure and ensure appropriate reporting across applicable jurisdictions.
  • Manage cross-border tax matters, including U.S. international tax, transfer pricing, permanent establishment, FATCA, and withholding requirements.
  • Support Pillar Two compliance and other evolving global tax regulations.
  • Advise on expatriate, foreign assignment, and Puerto Rico-related tax considerations.
  • Coordinate with external advisors on tax compliance across the U.K., Switzerland, Dubai, China, Sierra Leone, and other international jurisdictions.
  • Identify potential tax risks and planning opportunities across the company's global operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA and/or Master's in Taxation preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive experience across U.S. domestic and international tax, with a strong generalist background.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate taxation, cross-border matters, foreign income, and multinational tax reporting.
  • Big Four, commodity trading, or financial services experience is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to financial products, global investment structures, or complex international operations is a strong plus.
  • Experience managing multiple tax projects and coordinating with international advisors and auditors.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex tax matters for business stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with tax/accounting software and advanced Excel; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday.
