VP, Financial Institutions Credit Risk
Summary
A leading international bank is seeking a Vice President to join it's Financial Institutions Credit Risk team in New York. This role will provide independent credit oversight across a portfolio of banks, broker-dealers, insurance companies, mortgage REITs, mortgage originators, and other financial institution counterparties throughout North America and Latin America. The position sits within the second line of defense and is responsible for assessing counterparty creditworthiness, approving trading exposures, assigning credit ratings/limits, and evaluating complex capital markets transactions.
Responsibilities
- Lead quantitative and qualitative credit analysis of financial institution counterparties
- Assign internal credit ratings, establish counterparty limits, monitor exposure utilization, and approve trading requests across derivatives, repo, stock lending, fixed income, equities, and securitized products
- Analyze structured and complex transactions, negotiate credit terms, collateral arrangements, present recommendations to senior risk committees, and conduct counterparty due diligence meetings
Qualifications
- 7+ years of Financial Institutions Credit Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, or Institutional Credit Risk Experience covering regulated financial institutions
- Strong credit analysis skills, including financial statement analysis, capital adequacy assessment, liquidity evaluation, and counterparty risk assessment
- Experience approving derivatives and securities financing exposures, with working knowledge of ISDA, CSA, MRA, MSLA, or similar trading documentation
