Vice President, Private Equity
The Opportunity
A growing middle-market private equity firm is seeking a Vice President to join its investment team in Los Angeles. The firm is industry agnostic and takes a hands-on, operational approach to investing, with experience across corporate carve-outs, founder- and family-owned businesses, special situations, restructurings, and traditional buyouts.
The Vice President will have significant responsibility across the full investment lifecycle, including evaluating new opportunities, leading transaction execution, working with portfolio company management teams, and managing junior investment professionals. The team operates with a lean structure, providing meaningful deal ownership and direct exposure to senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead the evaluation and execution of new investment opportunities
- Oversee financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, and investment underwriting
- Prepare and present investment committee materials
- Manage key workstreams throughout the transaction process
- Work closely with portfolio company management teams on strategic and operational initiatives
- Evaluate add-on acquisitions and other value-creation opportunities
- Manage and mentor junior investment professionals
- Support portfolio companies through the investment lifecycle and eventual exit
Qualifications
- Prior private equity experience, ideally within a middle-market investment platform
- Strong M&A and transaction execution experience
- Experience with leveraged buyouts, carve-outs, restructurings, special situations, or other complex transactions is preferred
- Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and investment underwriting skills
- Ability to independently manage transactions and junior team members
- Hands-on mindset with an interest in both investing and operational value creation
- Interest in building a long-term career in Los Angeles
