Vice President - Private Equity
The Vice President ("VP") is a senior investment professional responsible for leading deal execution, supporting portfolio company value creation, and contributing to the firm's investment strategy and sourcing efforts. The VP works closely with Partners and Principals across all phases of the investment lifecycle, including origination, diligence, transaction execution, and portfolio oversight, while also mentoring junior team members
Key Responsibilities
Investment Sourcing & Execution
- Identify, evaluate, and originate new investment opportunities through proactive sourcing, intermediary relationships, and industry research
- Lead financial analysis, valuation, and modeling for potential acquisitions, including LBO and operating models
- Manage and coordinate due diligence processes, including oversight of third-party advisors (legal, accounting, consulting)
- Prepare and present investment memoranda and recommendations to the Investment Committee
- Support deal structuring, negotiation, financing, and transaction execution
Portfolio Company Management
- Monitor portfolio company performance against investment plans and financial targets
- Partner with management teams to drive strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and value creation efforts
- Assist with add-on acquisitions, refinancings, and exit planning
- Participate in board meetings and act as a key liaison between the firm and portfolio company leadership
Firm & Team Leadership
- Mentor and develop Associates and Senior Associates, including reviewing analyses and providing ongoing coaching
- Contribute to firm-wide investment strategy, sector theses, and market mapping initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with management teams, investment bankers, lenders, and other industry participants
- Uphold the firm's culture, values, and commitment to ethical
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Typically 6-10+ years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, leveraged finance, consulting, or a related investing role
- Prior private equity transaction experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and transaction execution
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting, and capital structures
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and transactions simultaneously
