About the Opportunity

A leading global private investment organization is seeking a Business Systems Director to support its Private Equity, Growth & Venture, and Real Assets businesses. This role sits within a strategic technology function that partners closely with investment, portfolio, finance, and operations teams to deliver systems that enable best‑in‑class private markets execution.

The ideal candidate combines deep private markets knowledge with strong systems expertise, bringing both business acumen and technical capability to a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment. This is a highly visible opportunity to influence technology strategy, drive platform enhancements, and support critical investment operations.


Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Delivery

  • Lead requirements gathering, documentation, and testing for systems supporting global private equity workflows.
  • Translate complex business needs into actionable technical specifications.
  • Identify process improvements and opportunities to streamline workflows.
  • Oversee core applications supporting deal management, fund management, accounting, and portfolio reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Partner with deal, portfolio, finance, and operations teams to align technology solutions with business priorities.
  • Prepare and communicate release notes, roadmaps, and project updates for stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, balancing business needs with technology strategy.

Vendor & Product Ownership

  • Manage relationships with application support vendors and third‑party system providers.
  • Ensure vendor solutions meet internal technology standards and long‑term business objectives.
  • Oversee software release cycles and coordinate delivery across internal and external teams.

Continuous Improvement & Subject Matter Expertise

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on private markets operations, finance, deal processes, and related systems.
  • Support integrations, upgrades, and development of new system capabilities.
  • Champion best practices across systems analysis, product management, and governance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of business/systems analysis experience supporting buy‑side or asset management organizations.
  • Experience supporting private equity or growth‑focused investment businesses.
  • Deep understanding of the private equity lifecycle across funds, strategies, and geographies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver business‑facing technology solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong analytical problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with project reporting and release management tools.
  • Technical skills in SQL, Excel, Python, or BI/reporting platforms.
  • Preferred experience with private equity systems such as Investran, Chronograph, or equivalent solutions.
  • Exposure to evaluating or implementing AI‑enabled process automation tools is a plus.
