A leading global investment management firm is seeking a Trading and Risk Manager to join its expanding discretionary trading platform. The firm operates across systematic, quantitative and discretionary strategies and is known for its strong technology, research driven culture and global collaboration.
This role sits at the intersection of trading, risk and strategy oversight, and offers the opportunity to influence the development and governance of a growing discretionary business at a global level.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify, assess and monitor risks across discretionary trading strategies
* Partner closely with traders and quantitative researchers on strategy evaluation and ongoing performance
* Ensure strategies operate in line with their investment thesis and within agreed risk allocations
* Analyse portfolio level risk, exposures and performance drivers
* Contribute to the enhancement of the discretionary risk framework, including processes, controls and infrastructure
* Work with senior stakeholders on the structure, governance and growth of the discretionary trading platform
Candidate Profile
Experience
* Senior level candidates with seven or more years of trading and or risk management experience, or
* Intermediate level candidates with two to seven years of relevant risk management experience
Background and Skills
* Strong experience in risk management within a relevant asset class
* Solid product knowledge and market understanding
* Leadership experience for senior candidates
* Strong interest in quantitative and data driven approaches
* Ability to work collaboratively with traders, analysts and quantitative teams
* Excellent communication skills and comfort working in a global environment
* Able to operate effectively in a fast paced, high accountability setting
Education
* Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, econometrics, engineering, computer science or physics
* Advanced degree preferred
