Senior Software Engineer - Distributed Systems & Platform Engineering

We are partnering with a leading global investment and technology-driven organization that is scaling multiple engineering teams focused on building business-critical platforms.
This is an opportunity for engineers who enjoy owning complex systems, solving difficult distributed-systems problems, and seeing a direct connection between engineering decisions and business outcomes.
Unlike many larger organizations where engineers contribute to a small piece of a product, engineers in this environment own systems end-to-end, influence technical direction, and work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.
What You'll Be Working On
You may contribute to platforms involving:
- Distributed backend systems
- Event-driven architectures
- High-volume transaction processing
- Data and ingestion platforms
- Workflow orchestration systems
- Financial infrastructure and operational platforms
- Real-time business-critical services
- Large-scale API and integration ecosystems
- Cloud-native platform modernization
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong commercial experience with Java
- Experience building distributed systems and microservices
- Strong understanding of event-driven architectures
- Experience with technologies such as:
- Spring Boot
- Kafka
- Kubernetes
- AWS
- REST APIs
- SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience owning systems through design, development, deployment and production support
- Strong problem-solving and system design skills
- Ability to explain technical decisions and tradeoffs clearly

- Trading systems
