This leadership role is responsible for overseeing a team that manages the financial reporting and accounting of reinsurance transactions. The position ensures accurate and timely reporting in compliance with GAAP and Statutory standards, while supporting the onboarding of new deals and administration of existing agreements. It involves cross-functional collaboration to resolve complex accounting issues, enhance reporting capabilities, and contribute to strategic initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Direct the preparation and review of financial statements, including balance sheet, income, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and evaluate risk transfer for reinsurance transactions.
- Provide technical accounting guidance for complex deal structures.
- Partner with IT and business leaders to implement automation and improve reporting systems.
- Analyze financial performance, identify key variances, and recommend operational improvements.
- Lead monthly and quarterly close processes, maintaining strong internal controls.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in financial accounting or reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
