Role Overview
The Senior Life Actuary is responsible for developing and supporting actuarial models, analyses, and reporting related to life insurance products. This role supports financial reporting, product development, regulatory requirements, and other analytical initiatives, while incorporating evolving actuarial methodologies into existing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly and annual experience studies and develop recommendations for modeling assumptions, including mortality and persistency
- Monitor key pricing assumptions across all life insurance products
- Lead the design and pricing of new life insurance products in alignment with business objectives
- Maintain awareness of competitor product offerings and market trends
- Develop recommendations for interest rates and other non‑guaranteed elements on in‑force products
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science
- Minimum of five years of life actuarial experience
- ASA designation required
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Willingness to pursue ongoing professional development and actuarial education
Preferred Qualifications
- Seven or more years of life actuarial experience
- Experience in pricing, reserving, and advanced analytical techniques
- FSA designation preferred
- Experience with FIS Prophet modeling preferred, but not required
