Title: Senior Audit Lead - Credit Risk
Salary: $185,000 - $205,000 base + bonus

Company Summary:
A leading global financial institution is looking to add a senior hire to its Credit Risk Audit team in New York. This role offers deep exposure across lending, counterparty credit risk, and complex products, sitting within a high-performing audit function.

This is a highly visible position working closely with senior stakeholders across risk and the business, with a strong focus on data, analytics, and evolving audit practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end audit engagements across credit risk and lending businesses
  • Act as a subject matter expert across credit products, with the ability to assess risk and controls in detail
  • Evaluate control environments and identify gaps, driving practical and sustainable remediation
  • Partner with stakeholders across risk, audit, and the business to deliver audit coverage
  • Support audit planning by identifying emerging risks and key focus areas
  • Drive enhancements to audit methodology, including use of data and AI-driven tools
  • Lead issue validation, root cause analysis, and reporting through closure

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience within risk or audit, with strong internal audit experience required
  • Deep expertise in credit risk, with the ability to speak in detail across products and exposures
  • Background within large financial institutions or global banks
  • Experience operating as a subject matter expert within audit engagements
  • Strong analytical mindset with a focus on data and emerging technologies
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage senior stakeholders
