Senior Actuarial Leader - Health & Benefits
A leading national employee benefits consulting firm is seeking a senior Health Consulting Actuary to join its growing practice. This is an opportunity for an established consulting leader to take on a highly visible role focused on client leadership, strategic consulting, business development, and practice growth.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in employer-sponsored health benefits, a strong consulting background, and a proven ability to build and grow client relationships.
What You'll Do
- Lead large, complex employer health consulting engagements
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on benefit strategy, plan design, funding, and financial projections
- Oversee vendor evaluations, RFPs, and procurement processes across medical, pharmacy, and other benefit programs
- Manage executive-level client relationships and act as the lead consultant on key accounts
- Identify opportunities to expand existing relationships and generate new business
- Mentor and develop actuarial and consulting team members
- Collaborate with practice leadership on strategic growth initiatives
- Present complex actuarial and healthcare insights to executives, boards, and trustees
What We're Looking For
- ASA or FSA required
- 15+ years of health actuarial and employee benefits experience
- Significant consulting experience with employer-sponsored health plans
- Demonstrated success developing and growing client relationships
- Strong understanding of benefits strategy, plan financing, self-funding, stop-loss, and pharmacy benefits
- Experience leading large client engagements and consulting teams
- Proven business development experience and a track record of revenue generation
- Strong executive presence and communication skills
