What You'll Do:
- Lead and manage SALT engagements, with a focus on 60% review and 40% preparation of state income and franchise tax returns.
- Conduct in-depth tax research, prepare technical memorandums, and draft client correspondence.
- Support clients during state audits and advise on strategies to minimize sales/use tax liabilities.
- Identify opportunities to expand services and enhance client relationships.
- Mentor junior staff, contribute to team development, and participate in continuing education to stay current on tax laws and industry trends.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Tax.
- CPA, JD, CMI, CCIP designation, or eligibility with 150 credit hours.
- Minimum of 2 years of SALT experience in a mid-market public accounting firm.
- Strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to client service.
