Real Estate Credit Analyst
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Real Estate Credit Analyst to join their Miami-based team. This role will primarily focus on underwriting and financial modeling for commercial real estate transactions, with additional responsibilities supporting debt originations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in real estate finance, excellent modeling skills, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Underwriting & Modeling (Primary Focus):
- Analyze and underwrite commercial real estate transactions across various asset classes (multifamily, office, retail, industrial, hospitality).
- Build and maintain detailed financial models including cash flow projections, bridge loans, construction loans, mezzanine loans, debt sizing, and sensitivity analyses.
- Assess borrower creditworthiness, market conditions, and asset performance.
- Prepare investment memoranda and credit packages for internal review and approval.
Debt Originations (Secondary Focus):
- Assist originators in structuring and pricing debt solutions for clients.
- Participate in client meetings and calls to understand financing needs.
- Support the preparation of term sheets and loan proposals.
- Coordinate with legal, capital markets, and closing teams to facilitate transaction execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field (Master's or CFA a plus).
- 1-3 years of experience in real estate credit, investment banking, or lending.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with Argus or similar software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of real estate fundamentals and capital markets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
