Quantitative Researcher (Fx / Futures), High Performing Pod

We are working on behalf of a large multimanager platform, who have an exceptionally well performing pod, who are at a point of expansion. The pod are spread between London, Paris, NY and Dubai and cover global markets. The PM has over 15 years of experience, with a number of tier-1 hedge funds and a strong track record of over 10 years. They have a PhD from a top tier university in mathematics, and has very strong hands on knowledge.

They trade intraday Fx/Futures markets, with holding periods ranging from minutes to hours. They benefit from an industry leading technology / infrastructure setup. They want to hire a hands on alpha researcher, who will be able to take ownership of their own strategies, and if they perform well they want to progress this person into a risk taking capacity (sub-PM) in as little as one year. The role can be based in any of London, Paris or Dubai.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, design, and implement mid-frequency trading strategies for FX and Futures.
  • Analyse large datasets to identify predictive signals and market inefficiencies.
  • Develop and backtest models using robust statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless integration of strategies into production.
  • Continuously monitor and optimise live strategies for performance and risk.

Requirements

  • 3-8 years of experience in quantitative research within systematic trading.
  • Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in a STEM discipline (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics).
  • Strong programming skills in Python or similar languages.
  • Deep understanding of market microstructure, particularly in FX and Futures.
  • Proven experience with alpha signal generation, backtesting frameworks, and statistical modeling.
  • Familiarity with mid-frequency horizons.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with machine learning and advanced statistical techniques.
  • Knowledge of risk management and portfolio construction.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
