A Copenhagen‑based systematic hedge fund is expanding its Energy Quant team and is looking for a Quantitative Researcher to help shape the future of short‑term physical power trading.
For nearly two decades, the firm has been at the forefront of automated trading and machine‑learning‑driven strategies. In recent years, it has expanded into energy markets, applying cutting‑edge technology to support liquid power markets and enable the transition toward renewable energy.
About the Team
You'll join a small, elite group of ~7 PhD‑level quants, combining advanced mathematics, computer science and deep market insight. The culture is highly collaborative, intellectually rigorous, and designed for people who want real ownership and impact.
The Role
As a Quantitative Researcher, you'll:
- Develop predictive models for short‑term energy market forecasting
- Build and maintain robust datasets from fundamental and real‑time market data
- Research power and gas market dynamics to drive new trading strategies
- Write production‑level code for models, tools, and data pipelines
- Optimise models and algorithms for performance, accuracy, and scalability
- Own high‑impact projects while collaborating closely with the team
What We're Looking For
- Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in a quantitative field
- Experience in power or gas markets, or forecasting energy fundamentals (e.g. wind, solar, demand)
- Strong background in predictive modelling and forecasting
- Excellent data skills: sourcing, cleaning, structuring large datasets
- Advanced programming skills in Python, C++ and/or C#
- Passion for technology, research, and computational problem‑solving
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, high‑performance environment
