P&C Underwriting Assistant - Construction
Selby Jennings has a current opportunity for a P&C Underwriting Assistant focused within Construction on a permanent basis. The position will be based in New York City on a hybrid model of 3x in person.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Underwriters to determine support requirements for both new and renewal policies, including gathering and organizing necessary account information for quoting and policy issuance.
- Coordinates with internal resources to maintain a structured diary system and ensure organized, up-to-date file management.
- Oversees the diary system to track and ensure timely receipt of all required documentation and information.
- Conducts research and provides underwriting analysis of account data, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Supports Underwriters with tasks such as submission clearance, rating, preparing binders, issuing policies, processing cancellations and endorsements, preparing renewals, and handling state and federal filings.
- Assists in issuing policies and endorsements, including accurate data entry of all required information.
- Maintains comprehensive and high-quality account documentation, ensuring completeness of files including correspondence, proposals, endorsements, and cancellations.
- Performs additional duties as assigned to support underwriting operations.
- Participates in regular meetings with Underwriters to review accounts, discuss renewals, and address clients' risk management needs.
