The Berlin office plays a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting the firm's expansion in the German market.
What You'll Do
- Lead the AML/CTF compliance framework for the German entity, ensuring alignment with local and group-wide standards
- Oversee transaction monitoring and manage the review and escalation of suspicious activity alerts
- File Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with the German Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and act as the primary contact for regulatory authorities
- Adapt and implement AML/KYC policies to meet German regulatory requirements
- Support the first line of defense in identifying and mitigating financial crime risks
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and report findings to senior management
- Provide AML/CTF training and guidance to internal teams
- Manage and mentor the Deputy MLRO
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of experience in compliance within a regulated financial institution
- Strong knowledge of German AML/CTF regulations (e.g., GwG, BaFin guidelines)
- Experience with cross-border financial services and high-risk client profiles
- Fluent in German and English; additional languages are a plus
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment
