Microsoft 365 Administrator - Contract-to-Hire
Summary
A growing organization is seeking a Microsoft 365 Administrator to support and optimize its digital workplace environment. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity, with strong performers considered for permanent roles. The position focuses on Tier 1 & Tier 2 support, service reliability, and secure operations, while also playing a key role in AI adoption, governance, and productivity optimization.
You will act as the primary owner of the Microsoft 365 environment and AI-enabled workflows, ensuring technology enables end users effectively while maintaining strong security, compliance, and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy, configure, and optimize Microsoft 365 services including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AI-assisted productivity tools
Implement and manage endpoint and device lifecycle management using modern MDM solutions, enforcing security and compliance baselines
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for productivity tools, identity and access issues, and connectivity-related incidents
Manage user onboarding and offboarding, including workstation setup, licensing, access controls, and group-based permissions
Administer identity and access controls, including Conditional Access, MFA, and security baselines
Develop, implement, and enforce AI governance policies to ensure responsible and compliant usage
Monitor AI tool adoption and usage, identifying opportunities to improve workflows and efficiency
Deliver end-user training, documentation, and ongoing guidance on productivity and AI-enabled tools
Partner with IT leadership to integrate AI capabilities into business processes while maintaining security and compliance
Implement and manage compliance controls such as data loss prevention, retention policies, and audit logging
Perform root cause analysis using logs and diagnostic tools for technical and security-related incidents
Maintain a knowledge base to support self-service and reduce support volume
Monitor service health dashboards and alerts, responding quickly to outages or degradations
Produce usage and licensing reports to optimize cost and resource allocation
Enforce governance around data sharing, guest access, and collaboration lifecycle management
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
3-5 years of experience administering Microsoft 365 in an enterprise or regulated environment
Strong hands-on experience with core Microsoft 365 services, identity platforms, and endpoint management
Experience supporting AI-enabled productivity tools in a business environment
Solid background in identity and access management, security controls, and compliance frameworks
Proven experience delivering Tier 1 and Tier 2 support
Experience with technology procurement, consolidation, and managing technical debt
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users
Preferred
Microsoft 365 or Azure certifications
Experience with governance frameworks, automation, scripting, or API-based integrations
Familiarity with device management across Windows and Apple ecosystems
Experience implementing AI adoption and governance programs
Exposure to low-code platforms or workflow automation tools
Prior experience in financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries
Background in creating internal training materials and user enablement programs
