Managing Director: Restructuring
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Managing Director to for our clients Restructuring and Turnaround team. This role is pivotal in advising clients through complex financial and operational challenges, including distressed situations, insolvency proceedings, and strategic turnarounds. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in financial restructuring, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering results in high-pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Leadership & Advisory
- Lead complex restructuring engagements for distressed companies, creditors, and stakeholders.
- Advise on turnaround strategies, liquidity management, debt restructuring, and insolvency options.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives, boards, and financial sponsors.
Business Development
- Drive business growth through relationship building, networking, and identifying new opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks, law firms, private equity, and other stakeholders.
- Lead proposal development and pitch presentations.
Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams across multiple engagements.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
- Provide coaching and development opportunities for junior staff.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee project delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
- Manage engagement economics, including budgeting, billing, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal risk management standards.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant experience in restructuring, turnaround, corporate finance, or related fields.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale restructuring engagements.
- Strong understanding of insolvency laws, financial modeling, and stakeholder negotiations.
- Experience in a top-tier consulting, advisory, or investment banking environment preferred.
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, CFA, CA, or an MBA from a top-tier institution are advantageous.
