An established global organization is preparing for the launch of a new independent publicly traded company focused on critical digital infrastructure solutions. This business serves high-growth markets by providing advanced power, thermal management, and infrastructure solutions that support data centers, AI-driven technologies, and other mission-critical environments.
The organization is seeking a Manager, Technical Accounting & Revenue Recognition to join its accounting leadership team. This role will report directly to the Director of Technical Accounting & Revenue Recognition and will play a key role in overseeing revenue accounting, technical accounting matters, compliance, and financial reporting initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for revenue recognition and technical accounting matters across the organization.
- Maintain, interpret, and enforce accounting policies related to revenue recognition and other complex accounting topics.
- Review and evaluate customer and commercial agreements to determine appropriate accounting treatment under ASC 606.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders throughout the contract lifecycle, from negotiation through financial statement reporting and disclosure.
- Provide guidance on technical accounting issues, including revenue, inventory, and other customer-related accounting matters.
- Develop and deliver training programs on technical accounting topics for teams across multiple locations.
- Support the consolidation of global financial results and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and public company reporting requirements.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including financial analysis and commentary related to revenue, profitability, accruals, and other key accounts.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and internal control frameworks.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors by preparing supporting schedules, documentation, and audit responses.
- Lead or contribute to special projects and strategic accounting initiatives as assigned by senior finance and accounting leadership.
Qualifications
- Active CPA certification required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- At least 4 years of experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm.
- Prior experience supporting technical accounting and revenue recognition matters in a complex business environment.
- Experience working for or supporting a publicly traded company is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606, U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal controls.
- Ability to analyze complex transactions, interpret contractual arrangements, and communicate accounting conclusions effectively.
