Long Only Fundamental Equity Analyst - Alternative Energy
Position Overview:
A leading Asset Management firm is seeking a Research Analyst specializing in Renewable and Conventional Energy to join their investment team. This role involves producing detailed sector analysis and investment insights across the global energy landscape, with a primary focus on renewable energy-particularly wind and solar. The successful candidate will contribute to strategy development and stock evaluation processes for their infrastructure and natural resource equity portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth market and company-level research, with a strong emphasis on the wind and solar industries
Identify and evaluate investment opportunities through rigorous bottom-up analysis
Track macro trends, policy developments, and industry shifts affecting global energy and renewable markets
Build and maintain complex financial models and forecasts to support investment decisions
Prepare detailed written reports and presentations for internal use by portfolio managers and analysts
Collaborate across teams to support thematic and sector-level investment strategies
Participate in meetings with corporate management teams, industry experts, and external analyst
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in equity research or investment analysis, on the buy-side or sell-side
Strong background in energy markets with a preference for candidates who have worked with wind and solar investments
Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills
Proficient communication abilities-both written and verbal
Solid grasp of investment principles, accounting, and security analysis
Self-starter with the ability to manage projects independently and contribute to team discussions
Proficiency in Excel, and familiarity with tools such as Bloomberg and FactSet
