Lead Windows Engineer - London (Hedge Fund)
Our client, a leading London‑based hedge fund, is seeking a hands‑on Lead Windows Engineer to design, build and own their core Windows infrastructure. The successful hire will work closely with security, engineering and operations teams to ensure a robust, reliable and high‑performing Windows estate across the organisation.
This is a greenfield, high‑performance environment where your architectural decisions will have both immediate and long‑term impact. The organisation is heavily invested in Windows-based endpoints and requires someone who can drive standards, resilience and modernisation end‑to‑end.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain enterprise‑grade Windows infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud environments.
- Own Windows 11 and Windows Server configuration, lifecycle management, deployment, patching and troubleshooting.
- Architect and manage Entra ID (Azure AD), hybrid identity and domain services.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to drive architectural decisions that support scalability, operational resilience and security best practices.
Requirements
- 7+ years' experience in Windows Infrastructure Engineering within a complex enterprise environment.
- Expert-level knowledge of Azure, Intune, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
- Strong experience configuring, managing and deploying Windows 11 and Windows Server.
- Strong IaC skills including PowerShell and familiarity with Microsoft Graph API.
- Proven ability to engineer scalable, secure, high‑performance Windows environments
