Junior Real Estate Debt Analyst
About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Real Estate Analyst to support our debt investment team. This role will focus on mezzanine debt, bridge lending, and senior debt across a variety of real estate asset classes. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in financial analysis and a passion for real estate capital markets.
Key Responsibilities
Underwriting & Financial Analysis
- Assist in underwriting real estate debt investments, including mezzanine, bridge, and senior loans.
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate loan performance, borrower credit, and asset-level risk.
- Conduct sensitivity analyses and scenario modeling to assess downside risk and return profiles.
Market Research & Due Diligence
- Perform market research and gather data on comparable transactions, rent trends, and cap rates.
- Support due diligence efforts including review of borrower financials, third-party reports, and legal documentation.
Transaction Support
- Prepare investment memos and presentations for internal credit committees and external partners.
- Track deal pipeline and assist in the closing process, including coordination with legal and operations teams.
Portfolio Monitoring
- Monitor performance of existing loan portfolio, including covenant compliance and borrower reporting.
- Assist in preparing asset management reports and loan servicing updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in real estate finance, investment banking, or lending preferred.
- Strong Excel modeling skills; familiarity with Argus, CoStar, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Understanding of real estate capital stack and debt instruments.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
