As their Technology M&A platform continues to expand, they are seeking a highly capable Investment Banking Associate II to join their New York office.
Role Overview
The Associate II will play a critical role in the execution of complex M&A transactions, strategic advisory assignments, and capital markets engagements across multiple technology subverticals. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior bankers, oversee junior team members, and serve as a key point of contact for clients, investors, and counterparties.
This role offers strong deal exposure, meaningful responsibility, and a clear path for advancement within a high‑growth group.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day‑to‑day execution of buy‑side and sell‑side M&A transactions, including due diligence, valuation, and process management.
- Build, review, and refine detailed financial models (DCF, LBO, merger models, operating models).
- Prepare client deliverables including CIMs, management presentations, pitch decks, and benchmarking analyses.
- Conduct in‑depth industry and company research across relevant subverticals (software/SaaS, digital infrastructure, fintech, emerging tech, etc.).
- Coordinate with legal counsel, accountants, and third‑party advisors throughout transaction processes.
- Manage and mentor Analysts, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and development of technical skills.
- Engage directly with founders, CEOs, CFOs, private equity firms, and venture‑backed management teams.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of investment banking experience, ideally within a technology-focused M&A group.
- Proven M&A execution experience with involvement in live transactions.
- Strong financial modeling and valuation expertise.
- Demonstrated interest and familiarity with technology sectors-SaaS, infrastructure, fintech, etc.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, communication, and project‑management capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or certifications (CFA) are a plus but not required.
