HPC Solutions Architect

A leading trading firm is looking to bring on an HPC Solutions Architect to join its team in Dallas.

Primary Responsibilities
* Partner with clients to assess current and future computational requirements
* Facilitate technical workshops to identify performance constraints and scalability opportunities
* Design comprehensive HPC architectures, including compute nodes (CPU/GPU), fast-access storage, and low-latency networking
* Recommend infrastructure components that align with performance goals and long-term growth
* Evaluate workload characteristics and benchmarking data to inform system configuration
* Apply profiling and analysis tools to guide architectural decisions
* Create detailed technical documentation, including system blueprints and component lists
* Serve as a bridge between client teams and internal engineering groups during deployment
* Foster relationships with technology providers to integrate emerging solutions
* Contribute to vendor evaluations and provide feedback to influence product development
* Stay informed on advancements in compute hardware, accelerators, interconnects, and data center technologies
* Collaborate with internal teams to refine HPC offerings based on operational insights

Ideal Candidate Profile
We're seeking someone with a strong foundation in HPC systems and the ability to translate technical requirements into practical, scalable solutions.

Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline
* Significant experience in designing and implementing HPC infrastructure
* Deep understanding of compute technologies including multi-core CPUs, GPUs, and dense compute architectures
* Expertise in high-speed networking protocols such as InfiniBand, RDMA, and RoCE
* Hands-on experience building HPC clusters and parallel computing environments
* Skilled in Linux performance tuning and system-level optimization
* Familiarity with distributed storage systems like Lustre, Ceph, GPFS, and VAST
* Experience with job scheduling and orchestration tools (e.g., Slurm, PBS, Kubernetes, Armada)
* Proven ability to work directly with clients to deliver customized infrastructure solutions
* Knowledge of containerized HPC environments (e.g., Singularity, Kubernetes)
* Certifications in cloud platforms, networking, or systems administration (e.g., AWS, CCNP, RHCE) are advantageous
