Head of Home Secured Lending
I am currently working on a high-impact leadership opportunity with a well‑established, profitable fintech that recently launched a home‑secured lending product and is now looking for a General Manager to scale and run this entire business line. This role reports directly to the President and functions as the end‑to‑end owner of the home‑equity lending business, with full responsibility for P&L performance, long‑term strategy, and overall execution. They're looking for someone who can build a differentiated, digital‑first lending experience, lead cross‑functional teams spanning Product, Risk, Marketing, Operations, and Technology, and own the full customer journey-from application and underwriting through valuation, closing, servicing, and repayment.
Responsibilities:
P&L Ownership & Strategy
- Own the P&L for the home‑secured lending business, including revenue targets, investment strategy, and cost optimization.
- Develop a multi‑year strategic roadmap aligned with broader company objectives.
- Build a differentiated, digital‑first customer experience for home‑secured lending.
- Adapt strategy based on performance data, competitive landscape, and consumer insights.
- Define value propositions across customer segments and identify product expansion opportunities
Product Build & Launch Execution
- Design end‑to‑end customer journeys from application to servicing.
- Lead go‑to‑market planning, MVP definition, and multi‑state rollout.
- Build or partner to establish infrastructure for underwriting, appraisal, title verification, closing, and servicing.
- Develop multi‑year forecasts and monitor key operational and financial KPIs.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Credit, and Capital Markets to optimize acquisition, pricing, and funding strategies.
- Ensure regulatory compliance across all operational processes and state requirements.
Team Leadership & Culture
- Lead a cross‑functional team spanning Product, Risk, Marketing, Operations, and Technology.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and ownership.
- Mentor and empower team members to operate with speed and excellence.
Stakeholder & Partner Management
- Manage relationships with partner banks, servicers, technology vendors, and compliance advisors.
- Serve as an external representative and advocate for the home‑secured lending business.
Required Experience:
- 10+ years in consumer lending, ideally in mortgage, home equity, or secured lending.
- Demonstrated P&L ownership and experience scaling secured lending products.
- Deep understanding of regulatory requirements for secured consumer credit.
- Experience digitizing traditionally manual lending processes.
- Proven success managing vendors and partner ecosystems.
