Execution Trader
Location: London
A leading global investment management firm is seeking a Commodity Volatility Facilitation Trader to join its trading desk. The role focuses on providing liquidity and execution services to internal clients across a range of commodity volatility products. This position is centred on client facilitation in markets where pricing is not continuously streamed, liquidity can be sporadic, and a meaningful proportion of trading activity is conducted via voice.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to optimise trade execution, including taking advantage of market dislocations and interacting with external client flow.
- Generate and communicate market insights to internal stakeholders.
- Partner with traders and quantitative teams to ensure execution aligns with broader trading and investment objectives.
- Contribute ideas to improve execution efficiency and develop trade ideas for the central trading book.
- Manage deviations from target positions within established risk parameters.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, mathematical, financial, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- 3-7+ years of experience within commodity volatility markets, covering one or more of the following:
- Precious Metals
- Agricultural & Soft Commodities
- US Crude Oil
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex market data and make informed decisions in fast-moving environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across global teams.
- Ability to work with urgency and thrive in a high-performance, fast-paced trading environment.
