Director, Market Risk
Company Summary: Our client is a leading natural gas and energy marketer across the United States and Canada. As their platform continues to grow, they are looking for a Director, Market Risk, to head up a team in Houston or Florida.
The Director, Market Risk, will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic oversight of risk across a diverse trading portfolio, partnering closely with commercial leadership to balance business growth and risk management objectives
- Leading transformation initiatives focused on improving risk infrastructure, operational efficiency, data integrity, and reporting capabilities
- Manage and develop a team of 7-8 risk professionals through change, inspiring investment in a growing platform
- Monitoring portfolio performance, positions and market exposures, ensuring emerging risks are identified, assessed, and communicated to senior stakeholders in a timely manner
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance or Business Administration
- 10+ years of experience (or 9+ years with trading experience)
- 2-4+ years of leadership/management experience
- Strong understanding of power markets and/or natural gas
