ETF Trade Support Engineer
A global proprietary trading firm is seeking a Trading Operations Engineer to join its London office. The firm applies cutting-edge technology and research to identify and execute trading strategies across multiple asset classes, including ETFs. With offices in major financial centres, it fosters a collaborative and improvement-driven culture, investing heavily in its people and infrastructure.
Your Future Role
As a Trading Operations Engineer, you will be part of the team responsible for supporting and maintaining the firm's ETF trading systems. Each morning, you will ensure the trading software is operational and that all pricing data is accurate and ready for production. Throughout the day, you will work closely with traders to resolve technical issues, support trading operations, and contribute to automation and tooling improvements.
Responsibilities
- Use internal tools, Python and SQL to verify ETL pipelines and confirm correct ETF pricing data before market open
- Launch and monitor ETF trading software, providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for operational trading issues
- Continuously improve operational procedures, scripts and workflows to enhance reliability and efficiency
- Collaborate with traders, developers and other teams to build tools and workflows that support trading operations
- Provide on-site support from 6:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday
Required Skills
- Degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering or a physical science
- Minimum two years' experience with Python, including Pandas and object-oriented programming
- Minimum two years' experience with SQL (PostgreSQL preferred, but any variant acceptable)
- Basic working knowledge of Bash and experience in a Linux environment
- Strong attention to detail and punctuality
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced environment
