Overview

A well‑established, relationship‑driven real estate private investment platform is seeking a Director of Business Development to support continued growth across its private placement offerings. This is a senior, producer‑level role designed for an experienced capital raiser with an existing private‑wealth network who can step in immediately and contribute to active fundraising initiatives.

The firm works exclusively with high‑net‑worth individuals and registered investment advisors (RIAs), raising capital for curated real estate investments on a deal‑by‑deal basis. The culture is entrepreneurial, high‑integrity, and long‑term oriented, with extremely low turnover.


The Role

The Director of Business Development will play a lead role in capital raising and relationship management across the firm's real estate private placement offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raise capital from HNW individuals and RIAs for real estate private placements
  • Leverage an existing network to support $100K-$250K average check sizes
  • Manage and deepen long‑term investor relationships through consultative engagement
  • Actively participate in multiple concurrent capital raises
  • Partner closely with senior leadership on investor feedback and growth strategy
  • Represent the firm with professionalism, discretion, and integrity

Requirements

Experience

  • 10+ years in capital raising, business development, or private‑wealth fundraising
  • Proven track record raising capital from:
    • High‑net‑worth individuals
    • RIAs / wealth managers
    • Affluent private‑wealth investors
  • Direct experience with real estate private placements and deal‑by‑deal offerings
  • Demonstrated ability to raise $100K-$250K checks across multiple investors per deal
  • Backgrounds from boutique alternative investment platforms, private placement firms, DST/1031 sponsors, or wealth‑channel real estate managers strongly preferred

Licensing

  • Series 7 / SIE, Series 22, and Series 63 (or ability to obtain)

  • Relationship‑driven, not transactional
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong work ethic
  • Confident, credible, and well‑respected in the local market
  • Comfortable operating in a small, senior, collaborative team

Location & Travel

  • Role can be fully remote
  • Preference for candidates based in wealth‑dense U.S. markets, including:
    • Silicon Valley / Bay Area
    • Miami / Palm Beach
    • Dallas
    • New York City
  • Ability to travel periodically to meet with leadership and investors
