DATA PROTECTION SPECIALIST - (f/w/d)
A fast-growing international company in the financial technology sector is seeking a Data Protection Specialist to join its Security, Privacy & Governance team. The role is based in Frankfurt am Main and involves working closely with internal teams, clients, and regulators to ensure compliance with global data protection laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the company's Record of Processing Activities.
- Review and revise privacy policies and standards in response to legal or business changes.
- Lead Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and other privacy evaluations.
- Respond to client privacy inquiries and assist with data processing agreements.
- Support incident response for personal data breaches.
- Advise on cross-border data transfers and international privacy laws.
- Develop and deliver privacy training and awareness programs.
- Draft responses for regulatory and client communications.
- Coordinate audits and compliance checks.
Candidate Profile
- Strong experience in privacy compliance within regulated industries (e.g., fintech, trading, payments).
- Familiarity with international data protection laws, beyond just GDPR.
- Experience conducting DPIAs, mapping processing activities, and advising stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate legal requirements into practical actions.
- Fluency in English (C1 or higher); additional languages are a plus.
- Certifications like CIPP/E, CIPM, or CIPT are beneficial but not required.
