Responsibilities for the Collateral & Margin Operations Specialist (Analyst/AVP) - Global Bank
- Manage daily margin and collateral activities for institutional clients across APAC, including margin calls, settlements, reconciliations, exception handling, and exposure-related queries.
- Support operational processes linked to collateral usage, netting arrangements, cash movements, and margin requirement set-up across financing and derivatives-related products.
- Investigate and resolve breaks, disputes, valuation issues, trade booking problems, and other operational exceptions in a timely manner.
- Partner with front office, middle office, risk, technology, and client-facing teams to ensure smooth day-to-day delivery and strong stakeholder support.
- Maintain a strong control environment by monitoring risks, escalating issues where needed, and helping improve procedures and operational effectiveness.
- Contribute to business, regulatory, and platform change initiatives, including process enhancement, automation, and implementation of new operating requirements.
Requirements for the Collateral & Margin Operations Specialist (Analyst/AVP) - Global Bank
- Experience in collateral management, margin operations, prime brokerage support, OTC operations, or a related markets operations function within a financial institution.
- Good understanding of margining, collateral flows, reconciliations, exposure management, and operational risk/control principles.
- Familiarity with cross-margining, netting structures, client financing workflows, or complex collateral arrangements would be advantageous.
- Proven ability to manage exceptions, investigate issues independently, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders across business and infrastructure teams.
- Exposure to process improvement, automation, or regulatory/business change projects is preferred.
- Strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and clear communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
