Senior Associate or Vice President of Business Development | Southeast

We are currently partnered with a lower middle market private equity firm headquartered in the Southeast. They are seeking a Senior Associate or Vice President of Business Development to lead the firm's sourcing and origination efforts. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this individual will be responsible for developing intermediary relationships, creating proprietary deal flow opportunities, and managing the firm's overall business development strategy. The role offers significant autonomy and visibility, with the opportunity to shape the firm's sourcing infrastructure and contribute meaningfully to its continued growth.

The Business Development Senior Associate will be responsible for:

  • Lead deal sourcing and origination efforts for new investment opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with investment banks, brokers, advisors, consultants, and business owners.

  • Expand proprietary outreach initiatives and identify new channels for sourcing opportunities.

  • Manage CRM processes, pipeline tracking, and overall business development activity.

  • Partner closely with investment professionals throughout the deal evaluation and execution process.

  • Build and strengthen relationships within the lower middle market intermediary community.

  • Assist in developing long-term business development and relationship management strategies.

  • Support broader firm growth initiatives, including future fundraising efforts as needed.

The Business Development Senior Associate should have:

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in business development, deal sourcing, private equity, investment banking, transaction advisory, or a related field.

  • Direct lower middle market sourcing or origination experience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with boutique investment banks, brokers, and intermediary networks.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and create new sourcing opportunities.

  • Strong communication, relationship management, and organizational skills.

  • Sector experience is a plus, though successful lower middle market sourcing experience is viewed as more important.
