Associate - Direct Lending (London)

Key Responsibilities

New Investment Underwriting (majority of the role)

  • Support the deal team in analysing new lending opportunities across a range of industries.
  • Build and sensitise financial models to assess credit risk, downside scenarios and returns.
  • Assist in preparing materials for investment committee discussions, including industry research, business due diligence, financial analysis and presentation charts.
  • Coordinate elements of transaction execution and closing processes alongside internal teams and external advisers.

Portfolio Management (remaining portion of the role)

  • Prepare monitoring materials, including covenant analysis, performance reviews and forward‑looking projections.
  • Conduct ongoing credit analysis, industry trend tracking, and review company‑specific disclosures and financial updates.
  • Support assessment of amendment and waiver requests.
  • Maintain internal reporting tools and ensure accuracy of investment data.

Candidate Profile

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years' experience in leveraged finance, direct lending, investment banking, or corporate/ commercial banking.
  • Strong financial modelling capability and a rigorous analytical mindset.
  • Highly organised, detail‑driven and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deal‑driven environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency across Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Additional European language skills advantageous.
