About the Company

A rapidly growing energy‑focused organization is expanding its technology leadership team as it modernizes systems, strengthens operational capabilities, and delivers a suite of strategic initiatives. The firm operates across multiple energy markets and is investing heavily in program governance, process optimization, and enterprise technology upgrades. With a newly appointed CIO and a strong forward‑looking roadmap, this is a high‑visibility role with direct exposure to executive leadership.

Role Overview

The Senior Program Manager - Strategic Initiatives will report directly to the CIO and lead high‑impact, cross‑functional projects from planning through execution. This is a newly created growth role designed to support the CIO's mandate to deliver programs on time and strengthen organizational delivery discipline.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of program/project management experience within the energy sector (power, renewables, utilities, oil & gas, energy trading, or energy tech). This person does not need a technical background, but must be strong in stakeholder management, structured delivery, and cross‑functional coordination.

This role does not include direct reports initially, but will have significant influence across the organization.

  • Identify and manage risks and dependencies early and proactively.
  • Maintain project budgets, forecasts, and resource planning.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and ensure accountability on deliverables.

Energy Systems & Process Exposure (Preferred)

  • Experience delivering programs involving ETRM (e.g., OpenLink, Allegro, Endur).
  • Understanding of price management workflows, settlements, or bid‑to‑bill processes.
  • Familiarity with SCADA or real‑time operational systems a plus.
