Operations & HR Manager

We're working with a fast-growing startup Medical Stop Loss MGU that's building new medical stop-loss solutions focused on cost containment, transparency, and data-driven underwriting. This is a foundational role, not corporate, not maintenance. You'll help design systems, scale operations, and shape the team culture from the ground up.

You'll be the central hub for both operations and people infrastructure, creating workflows and talent systems to scale the business. If you thrive in fast-paced environments and love building processes and teams from scratch, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact.


What You'll Do:

  • Operations Management:

    • Develop end-to-end workflows for underwriting, billing, claims, and compliance
    • Create SOPs, service standards, and audit-ready documentation
    • Coordinate vendor and tech integrations (TPAs, carriers, actuarial partners)
    • Track KPIs and operational performance
  • HR & Talent Management:

    • Build recruiting pipelines and manage onboarding
    • Implement performance scorecards and accountability systems
    • Establish culture rhythms, training templates, and HR policies

Ideal Background:

  • Experience in insurance operations (medical stop-loss, TPA, or related)
  • HR/recruiting and people systems expertise
  • Strong understanding of compliance and licensing processes
  • Familiarity with EOS or similar performance frameworks
