An innovative technology company operating in the legal compliance space, focused on delivering automation-driven solutions for information security and data protection. Founded in 2018, the business has grown rapidly and now generates approximately €5M in annual recurring revenue. With around 40 employees, the company is in a post-seed stage and set for a Series A funding round this year. The role sits within the Compliance Services Team, and reports directly to the COO, ensuring close collaboration with senior leadership.

Position: Data Privacy Expert (all genders)
Location: Remote within Germany (4x per year meeting in Hamburg)
Estimated Salary: 70.000€-90.000€* base
Languages: Fluent German (C1+) and proficient English (B1+)

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance to the company's clients on data protection and privacy matters.
- Advise on GDPR, BDSG, and related regulatory frameworks, including records of processing activities, technical and organizational measures, and contractual compliance.
- Support clients in achieving data protection certifications and meeting regulatory requirements.
- Perform privacy assessments and audits to evaluate compliance maturity and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist clients in implementing and improving Data Protection Management Systems (DSMS).
- Optionally act as an external Data Protection Officer for selected clients.
- Contribute to the development of privacy-related content and best practices for compliance platforms.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external experts to deliver comprehensive privacy solutions.
- Provide mentorship and take responsibility for complex privacy engagements.
Profile Requirements
- Degree in law, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in data protection (GDPR) consulting, auditing, information security, or corporate environments.
- Hands-on expertise in implementing and improving DSMS.
- Strong understanding of privacy regulations and ability to work independently with a structured approach.
- Fluent German (C1+) for client communication and solid English skills (B1+) for internal & client communication.
- Relevant certifications such as Data Protection Officer (TÜV), CIPP/E, or similar are advantageous.
- Familiarity with collaboration tools is a plus.
- An information security background is a plus.
