Network Engineer (RF) HFT
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize high-speed networks tailored for high-frequency connectivity.
- Develop and maintain low-latency infrastructure, including RF link planning, site selection, and propagation analysis.
- Configure and troubleshoot routing and switching systems to ensure peak network performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers and infrastructure engineers, to enhance network efficiency.
- Perform in-depth network performance analysis, latency tuning, and packet-level diagnostics.
- Optimize RF systems, network paths, and hardware configurations for maximum throughput and minimal delay.
- Build and maintain network automation and monitoring tools to ensure real-time visibility and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with telecommunications regulations, spectrum policies, and licensing standards.
Required Qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience in low-latency or high-frequency networking environments.
- Strong foundation in RF engineering, including link budget analysis and antenna optimization.
- Deep understanding of network protocols such as TCP/UDP, BGP, OSPF, multicast, and PTP time synchronization.
- Hands-on experience with network hardware (e.g., Arista, Cisco, Juniper) and low-latency design principles.
- Proficient in network performance tuning, latency measurement, and packet analysis using tools like Wireshark and tcpdump.
- Skilled in Linux networking, scripting/automation (Python, Bash, Ansible), and network monitoring platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud networking in AWS and GCP environments.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with dark fiber deployments, optical networking, or custom RF solutions.
- Background in financial market infrastructure, telecom, or other latency-sensitive industries.
- Knowledge of precision timing systems such as PTP, GPS-based timing, or atomic clocks.
- Ability to implement secure, redundant, and fail-safe network architectures.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills in high-pressure, production-critical environments.
