Investment Performance Analyst
Key Responsibilities
Performance Measurement & Composite Oversight
- Administer and monitor composite performance structures in accordance with industry best practices and established methodologies.
- Review, reconcile, and validate portfolio and composite data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate activities related to independent performance verification and annual compliance reviews.
- Maintain supporting documentation, controls, and procedures associated with performance reporting.
Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare recurring performance packages on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Generate customized analyses and reporting for portfolio managers, client-facing teams, and senior leadership.
- Produce portfolio-level statistics, attribution analyses, risk metrics, and investment characteristics reports.
- Investigate data discrepancies and resolve reporting issues in a timely manner.
Client & Business Development Support
- Provide performance-related information for client presentations, consultant databases, questionnaires, and due diligence requests.
- Partner with business development and marketing teams to deliver accurate performance and portfolio analytics for proposal submissions.
- Respond to ad hoc requests for investment performance, benchmark analysis, and portfolio data.
Process Enhancement & Project Work
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, data quality, and operational workflows.
- Assist with implementation of new reporting tools, systems, and automation initiatives.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and collaborate with team members across investment operations and analytics functions.
- Support broader team initiatives and serve as a resource for performance-related inquiries.
Desired Background
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Progress toward or completion of a CFA, CIPM, or similar investment-related designation is advantageous.
Experience
- Approximately 3 to 6 years of experience in investment performance measurement, portfolio analytics, investment operations, or a related area within asset management.
- Working knowledge of investment performance reporting methodologies and GIPS standards.
- Experience supporting institutional or wealth management investment products is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel capabilities, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data manipulation, and reporting automation.
- Familiarity with performance measurement and portfolio analytics platforms.
- Experience with FactSet, Bloomberg, portfolio accounting systems, or comparable investment technology solutions is highly desirable.
- Proficiency across Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
