Our client is a leading investment banking advisory firm specializing in complex financial transactions, including M&A, capital markets, and valuation services. Its Portfolio Valuation team provides independent, defensible, and audit-ready valuations for alternative asset managers, private equity firms, and institutional investors.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and analytical Portfolio Valuation Vice President to join its valuation and opinions group. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in valuing illiquid and complex financial instruments, who are looking to take on a leadership role in a high-performing, collaborative environment. The position is primarily in-office, with opportunities available in Chicago, New York, and San Francisco.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage portfolio valuation engagements for private equity, credit, and hedge fund clients.
  • Oversee the valuation of illiquid debt, equity, and structured products using market-based and income-based approaches.
  • Develop and review complex financial models, including DCF, LBO, and option pricing models.
  • Interface directly with clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders to present valuation methodologies and defend assumptions.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables and professional development.
  • Stay current on market trends, regulatory developments, and valuation best practices.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal writing and client presentations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in portfolio valuation, financial advisory, or related roles.
  • Deep understanding of valuation techniques for private equity, credit, and structured products.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel and valuation software.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead client engagements.

Expected Compensation: $160k - $200k

Projected Bonus: 30 - 50%
