My client, a top insurance carrier, is looking for a Voluntary Benefits Sales Account Executive to drive new business growth and expand relationships within the employee benefits market. This individual will work closely with insurance brokers, consultants, and employer groups to promote and sell a comprehensive portfolio of voluntary and supplemental benefit solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business sales across a portfolio of voluntary and supplemental benefits, including Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, Disability, and Life Insurance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with employee benefits brokers, consultants, and distribution partners.
- Identify new opportunities within existing and prospective employer groups.
- Partner with brokers and consultants throughout the sales process, including product positioning, presentations, proposals, and implementation.
- Manage an assigned territory and develop a strategic pipeline of new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal underwriting, implementation, account management, and enrollment teams to deliver a strong client experience.
- Maintain knowledge of the competitive landscape and voluntary benefits market.
Ideal Background
- 7+ years of sales or business development experience within employee benefits, voluntary benefits, group insurance, or a related market.
- Experience working for an insurance carrier, brokerage, or employee benefits organization.
- Strong existing relationships with brokers and consultants preferred.
- Experience selling products such as Life, Disability, Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, or other supplemental health benefits.
- Proven track record of developing new business and managing a sales territory.
- State insurance license preferred or ability to obtain one.
