Underwriter/ Senior Underwriter - Casualty
Selby Jennings are excited to be working in partnership with a rapidly expanding MGA within the Lloyd's Market. They are currently seeking a Senior Underwriter with experience in Casualty to join their dynamic team and launch a new line of business.
The team welcomes candidates from a variety of business lines, but is particularly interested in speaking with individuals who have experience in Financial Lines (excluding Cyber), Medical Malpractice, and Property & Casualty.
This is a rare opportunity for someone to leverage their expertise to launch a new line of business, take ownership from day one, and build out a fresh book with real growth potential
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the launch and development of a new Casualty line of business within the Lloyd's Market.
- Develop underwriting guidelines, pricing models, and risk appetite frameworks.
- Build and manage a profitable book of business across selected casualty segments.
- Cultivate broker relationships and drive new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with actuarial, compliance, and operations teams to ensure best practices.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform underwriting strategy.
- Represent the MGA at industry events and within the Lloyd's community.
Experience & Expertise
- Minimum 5+ years of underwriting experience in Casualty lines within the Lloyd's or London Market.
- Proven track record in Financial Lines (excluding Cyber), Medical Malpractice, or Property & Casualty.
- Strong understanding of Lloyd's Market operations, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience launching or significantly growing a line of business is highly desirable.
