Our client is a leading investment management and trading firm seeking a highly skilled Trading Systems Engineer (C++) to join their team in London.This team is responsible for building and maintaining critical trading infrastructure in C++ that supports a range of systematic and discretionary trading businesses. The role offers the opportunity to work on high-performance, business-critical systems where reliability, scalability, and low latency are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy core components and frameworks that underpin electronic trading systems.
Enhance existing technology platforms to improve performance, stability, functionality, and automation.
Build and support highly available, low-latency applications used in real-time trading environments.
Collaborate closely with traders, quantitative researchers, and other technology teams to deliver robust solutions.
Contribute to architecture decisions and drive continuous improvement across the trading technology stack.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
Expert-level C++ development experience.
Experience building large-scale enterprise software and/or low-latency systems.
Strong understanding of multithreaded programming and network-based distributed systems.
Experience with messaging technologies or middleware platforms is highly desirable.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for building high-performance software.

Nice to Have

Experience working within electronic trading, financial markets, or investment management.
Knowledge of position management, risk management, or compliance-related systems.
Exposure to real-time market data platforms and trading infrastructure.
