Tax Manager
Company Summary: We are currently partnered with a top-tier Engineering and Consulting firm seeking to add a Tax Manager to their leadership team in Charlotte. This strategic role offers the opportunity to work directly with the CEO and CFO, gaining deep exposure to complex tax matters while helping shape the firm's financial future.
Tax Manager Responsibilities:
As Tax Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and strategy across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. You'll play a key role in:
Managing corporate and partnership tax filings, including multi-entity structures
Leading tax planning initiatives to optimize the firm's financial position and support growth
Ensuring compliance with evolving tax regulations and identifying risk mitigation strategies
Supporting M&A activity, entity restructuring, and other strategic transactions
Collaborating with external advisors and internal stakeholders to streamline reporting and audit readiness
- Will work with international Tax treaties.
Tax Manager Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or International Business
CPA, CMA, or EA certification strongly preferred
Advanced degree (e.g., Master's in Taxation, MBA, or LLM in Tax Law) is a plus.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in corporate tax, with a focus on international tax compliance and planning
Deep understanding of international trade treaties, including tax implications of bilateral and multilateral agreements (e.g., USMCA, OECD frameworks, BEPS)
Experience with cross-border transactions, transfer pricing, and permanent establishment risk
Familiarity with foreign tax credits, withholding tax, and treaty-based exemptions.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in interpreting and applying international tax laws, including treaty provisions and double taxation relief
Strong grasp of US GAAP and IFRS reporting standards for global entities
Experience with tax software and ERP systems
