Job title: Software & ML Engineer
Location: Washington DC
Contract: 3-6 months (temporary to permanent)
About the role:
- Build scalable data pipelines across APIs, SaaS, databases, and external sources
- Own a modern data lake/lakehouse powering analytics + ML
- Develop clean, reliable ELT/ETL workflows and ML‑ready datasets
- Create feature pipelines for both experimentation and production
- Ensure data quality, freshness, monitoring, and governance
- Partner with analytics + business teams to deliver trusted, high‑impact data
- Continuously improve performance, cost efficiency, and reliability of the data platform
Experienced required:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years in data engineering or similar roles
- Strong experience with Python and SQL
- Proven experience building and managing data pipelines
- Experience with data lakes, warehouses, or lakehouse architectures
- Familiarity with orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, etc.)
- Strong grasp of data modeling, schema design, and data quality practices
- Experience integrating APIs and third‑party data sources
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
- Ability to work independently with urgency and accountability
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with streaming or near-real-time data pipelines
